Update Log

Here you will find the same log as it is found on my BGG post under "Work in Progress"

I will keep this updated to provide some key highlights of the changes over time.


29 Nov 2023 - Two solo playtests complete - modifications made to actions phase. Flow of the game improved with allowing malt production as a new action.

30 Nov 2023 - Completed all Brew Cards, Objective Tiles, Upgrade Tiles, and Contract Cards. Ready for further solo playtests.

01 Dec 2023 - Completed initial draft of the Rulebook. Completed Hops Tiles. Initial draft of the Main Board complete.

08 Dec 2023 - Completed full layout of the main board and shared on BGDL on Facebook.

09 Dec 2023 - Updated Original BGG post for WIP. Modified details under "Start a Brew" action.

10 Dec 2023 - Completed the first 4 player Playtest. Modifications to gameplay are currently being worked on.

13 Dec 2023 - Modifications made for Malt and Brew Card Decks. Modified Start a Brew action. Modified the Actions Phase. Changed the Quality Track to increase gradually.

15 Dec 2023 - Refined and Edited the Rulebook.

09 Mar 2024 - Local playtesting ongoing. Changes made to rules and core mechanics.

28 Mar 2024 - Reduced the total number of beer types from 12 to 8. Removed NEIPA, Wheat Ale, Brown Ale, and Red Ale. This is to help improve market fluidity when getting to match the Malt Type with the appropriate Brew Cards.

03 Apr 2024 - Modified some Brewmaster powers and Starting Company ongoing effects. Modifications to some costs to specific brew cards. Tiered upgrade system will be tested out in the next play test. Upgrade costs have been changed and increased due to the ongoing effects it delivers for the player.

06 Apr 2024 - Refined the Reference Charts for Rulebook in OP

16 Aug 2024 - Added new effects for all Malt Cards. Revamped the upgrade system into a tiered system. Further testing needs to be completed.

04 Sep 2024 - Simplified Malt Card types to "Wild", "Lager", and "Ale". Removed Pale Ale and Blonde Ale from Brew Card types. Replaced them with Vienna Lager, Marzen, and changed "Lager" to "American Lager". This essentially simplifies the 8 types of Brews to 4 types of Lager and 4 types of Ale.

13 Sep 2024 - Another play test completed. Flow of the game has improved tremendously. Upgrade Tile system needs further refinement. Augmentation Tile system in the works. Additional Company Profiles in the works. Refined Brewmaster powers.

16 Sep 2024 - Updated the Upgrade System and Augmentation Tile System.

25 Sep 2024 - Updated the Rulebook and made clarifications on key actions. Started Solo Rules!

16 Oct 2024 - Completed new layout of the main board. Further playtesting is being completed at this time. Changed Regular Menu brews to "Legacy Brews".

25 Oct 2024 - Early Illustrations and iconography initiated. Rulebook layouts started under Affinity Publisher 2.

31 Oct 2024 - Playtest done for V5 of Player board. Will make adjustments to layout. Will add bonuses upon reaching Level 10 on each of the individual Quality Tracks. Will test reverting change for converting quality points from 2:1 ratio to a 3:1 ratio.

03 Nov 2024 - Playtest done for 5 player game and there were no hindrances at this player count. The play time did not significantly increase.

07 Nov 2024 - Completed Tabletop Simulator mod for further testing!

08 Nov 2024 - Overview video uploaded on YouTube!

22 Jan 2025 - New action system in place, streamlined for reducing down time.

31 Jan 2025 - Fully updated the rulebook and new 3 minute pitch video uploaded on YouTube!

22 Feb 2025 - Updating Main Board, Player Board, Contract Cards, Brew Cards, Malt Cards and Hop Tokens. Rehaul for a tighter economy of resources.

08 Mar 2025 - Main Board v7 and Player Board v12 complete. All cards rebalanced and ready for reprint to take to GOBfest for further testing!

13 Mar 2025 - Rebalanced all resource cards; Main Board v8 and Player Board v13 complete. New action selection mechanism in place. Solo testing in progress then I will reprint for GOBfest!

26 Mar 2025 - New rondel action system is now on the main board. Ready for further play testing. Play test group for Thursday evening then GOB fest play testing on Saturday, March 29, 2025!

29 Mar 2025 - Had to cancel going to GOBfest due to weather conditions locally and I wasn't able to drive in for the play testing there. I did get to have an amazing play test online through TTS.

11 Apr 2025 - Updated the rulebook. Will be refining and proofreading this further during the coming weeks. Also, more playtesting on the way!

2 May 2025 - Entered for Canadian Game Design Award 2025!

8 May 2025 - Fully Updated Tabletop Simulator mod!

21 May 2025 - Solo mode has been added!

10 Jun 2025 - Art coming soon! Refining the player boards and solo board

01 Jul 2025 - Made it as a Finalist for the 2025 Canadian Game Design Award!!!

25 Jul 2025 - Received my initial Prototype copies from Launch TableTop. Currently testing solo mode further.

15 Aug 2025 - Modifications made to the way Fermentation Tracks work. Player boards updated accordingly. Main board now has a round tracker.

09 Dec 2025 - Main board changed; removed the reputation track, the contract card area now shows 6 cards, the Time Track is modified to have 4 rests, 3 rests, then 2 before end of game is triggered. There are now 8 upgrade tiles that are visible during the game. The entire pentagon of actions has been re-worked. All actions are worker-placement based which is in the core central pentagon. The second to fourth layers are rebalanced for more interactive benefits. The player boards are tweaked to house only 4 beer tokens for each fermenter.
